Travel Advice: Entry Requirements Regarding Israel-Related Travel

Syrian authorities enforce strict entry regulations concerning any prior travel to Israel or Palestinian self-governed territories. Upon arrival, border officials will deny entry to any traveler whose passport contains evidence of visits to Israel.

This restriction applies not only to Israeli visas or entry stamps but also to stamps from certain border crossings with Israel, even when those crossings are located in neighboring countries such as Jordan or Egypt. If such stamps are detected by Syrian immigration officers, entry will be refused immediately.

To ensure a smooth arrival, travelers should carefully review their passport’s travel history and understand what their existing stamps indicate. Advance planning is essential to avoid any association—however indirect—with Israel during the entry process.

To reduce the risk of being denied entry to Syria, avoid obtaining entry or exit stamps from the following land border crossings:

Jordan:

  • Wadi Araba Crossing (South Border)
  • Allenby / King Hussein Bridge

Egypt:

  • Taba
  • Nitzana
